ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the efficiency of matrix assisted laser analytical ionization time of flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF-MS)for identification of Candida species which caused vulvovaginal candidiasis(VVC).Methods Candida strains from VVC were first identified by PCR amplification of the ITS regions and transposable intron of DNA and sequencing analysis.MALDI-TOF-MS wasfurther performed to identify the strainsconfirmedby molecular methods, and at the same time the MALDI-TOF-MS identification database of C.albicans complex was set up.Results In total, 324 Candida strains were identifiedby molecular methods from VVC samples, which encompassed20 different yeast species, including C.albicans,C.africana,C.dubliniesis, C.glabrata, C.bracarensis, C.nivariensis, C.guilliermondii, C.lusitaniae,C.krusei,C.kefyr,C.parapsilosis,C.metapsilosis,C.tropicalis,Kodamaea ohmeri,C. fabianii, Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Trichosporon asahii.314of all 324 Candida strains were correctly identified by MALDI-TOF-MS.3 C.albicans,1 C.africana,1 C.glabrata, 2 C.metapsilosis,1 C.guilliermondii and 1 Saccharomyces cerevisiae were incorrectly identified, while 1 Torulaspora pretoriensiscannot identified. The accuracy ofidentification was 96.91 %(314/324).97.95%(191/195)of Candida strains, including 153(98.08%)C.albicans, 37(97.37%)C.africanaand 1 (100%)C.dubliniesis, can be correctly identifiedby the newbuiltC.albicans complex database. Conclusion MALDI-TOF-MS is proved to be a rapid and reliable method for identification of Candida strains from VVC,which also has advantages of identification of Candida complex.(Chin J Lab Med,2018, 41:296-299)

ABSTRACT

Mother to child transmission(MTCT)is a major route oftransmission of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS),syphilis and hepatitis B.MTCT of AIDS,syphilis and hepatitis B can lead to many adverse pregnancy outcomes, seriously affacting maternal andinfant healthand has become a severe public health and social problem. The risk of MTCT of AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis Bis associated with stage of pregnancy, receiving or not receiving treatment. The prevention for MTCT of AIDS,syphilis and hepatitis B has becoming increasingly important. To learnthe epidemiology, diagnosis, maternal-fetal hazardsand anti-MTCT therapy of AIDS, syphilis and hepatitis Bwill undoubtedly facilitate the development of strategies for MTCT of AIDS,syphilis and hepatitis Bprevention and control.(Chin J Lab Med,2018,41:259-262)

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe and understand the morphology and structure of Acarophenax tribalii in order to create a new record of this mite in China. Methods The stored grain samples(rice and brown rice)were collected from the storage of lo?cal dwellers, and mites breeding in the products were isolated. Then mite samples were prepared and identified as the previous protocols, and the species was classified in accordance with Hughes. Results A. tribalii was detected in the grain samples. The light microscopic examination exhibited ovally shaped idiosoma of this species, and the abdomen of the male was more inflated than that of the female. By general view, the propodosomatal plate appeared triangle?like, and its anterior margin was covered by the gnathosoma. Leg I consisted of four segments, and its tibia and tarsus healing were fused into a stubby tibiotarsus. A tarsulus occurred at the end of legⅡ,ⅢandⅣ,with a claw born at each leg. Conclusion The morphology and structure of A. tribalii are characterized. This may lay a basis for following study on this species.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the epidemic situation of trematode Aspidogastrea in the Huaihe River. Methods The mussels in the Huaihe River were collected numbered and dissected to detect the trematode and the species of trematodes were identified after dyeing. Results Totally 79 mussels were collected and the trematode Aspidogastrea were found from 23 mussels with the infection rate of 29.11% 209 trematode Aspidogastrea were collected and the average infectiosity of mussels was 9.09. Conclusion Trematode Aspidogastrea is endemic in the Huaihe River and the species is Aspidogaster sp.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the zoonotic trematode species identified in domestic animals from Huainan area,An-hui Province,so as to supply the evidence for the prevention of zoonoses. Methods The livestock/definitive hosts were commer-cially available on category basis, and sacrificed for obtaining the parasitic samples via dissecting the viscera. The specimens were microscopically identified, with reference to the descriptions in the previous literature. Results By identification, sorting and classification,41 species of internal trematodes were found so far in the domestic animals fed in Huainan areas,in which 23 spe-cies were zoonotic trematodes and 18 were internally parasitic in livestock, belonging to 4 orders,12 families and 21 genera, and occurred in 9 definitive hosts including chicken, ducks, geese, pigs, cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats and dogs, respectively. Con-clusion The findings suggest that the zoonotic trematodes belong to many kinds and prevalent in the domestic animals in Huainan areas, and such prevalence should call for high attention since it is urgent risk factors for zoonoses in this geographic area.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the characteristics of soil microbial variation during Salvia miltiorrhiza crop rotation.

METHODthe conventional cultivating microbial method was used to study the microbial number and communities structure and soil microbial biomass phosphorus (SMBP) was determined by chloroform vapor extraction method. The data was then analyzed by SPSS software.

RESULTWith the increase of the crop rotation years, the numbers of bacteria and actinomycetes in soil also, but the fungi and SMBP decreased.

CONCLUSIONMicrobial mechanism of crop rotation of the planting S. miltiorrhiza is the regulation of microbial number and bacteria physiological communities, the process rebuilds the soil ecological system balance. Microbial communities in soil need at lest 2 years to get to restore, after planting S. miltiorrhiza, which consisting with traditional planting experience.
